another mouse birthday!

Matthew James Walker - the happiest baby in the world :)
I can't believe my sweet little baby mouse is turning 17..... SEVENTEEN! But he is.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY MATTHEW MY PRECIOUS BOY!!!
turning 8 years old :)
turning 9 years old :)
 10 years old :)
11 years old :)
ONLY THE MOUSE would insist on wearing a kilt to his 6th's grade graduation! :D
I couldn't find birthdays 12 or 13 which is gonna drive me INSANE.....
so his kilt pic will have to substitute for them both :/
Turning 14 and flying high at City Walk and Hard Rock :)
15 with Davy at Roscoe's Chicken & Waffles.....
..... and doing some big time high flying of an entirely different kind this year!
16th birthday with Ambrosia and the gang at (you guessed it) Roscoe's Chicken & Waffles.....
..... and of course a visit to Amoeba Music afterwards - Ambrosia, Matty, John, and Davy :)
~
So how is Matthew going to celebrate turning 17???
You have a few days to guess - you'll have to check back to see the pics!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY MATTHEW - I LOVE YOU SO MUCH!!!

oscars, roscoe's, and countdown to 21

Davy had an Oscar party on Academy Award night.....
Being the movie snob that he and his lovable-but-highfalutin friends are.....
he was not particularly excited about this affair, yet he wanted to watch so he could enjoy his agony.
So he threw an "overly-excited Oscar party", meaning everyone had to overreact to every lame thing.
And not only that, they had to dress as any character from one of the nominated movies.
EVEN OSCAR HIMSELF SHOWED UP!

Now, these kids are no dummies..... they not only moved in an extra couch and two extra chairs,
but Daniel split our sectional couch in two and put one up on cement blocks to create levels!
(was he away at college too long or WHAT)
He had lots friends dressed up as fun characters..... they ate lots of food and laughed & cheered.
Davy was one of the dinosaurs from "Tree of Life". Alrighty then.
It turned out to be an extremely fun AND VERY LOUD EVENING :)
Which brings us to the next day, DAVY'S 21st BIRTHDAY!!!
So naturally he wanted to go to Roscoe's Chicken & Waffles to celebrate!
yayyy :/
I gotta say though, I absolutely *LOVE* the above and below photos!
Awww..... look at that handsome Davy face!
WHERE DID THOSE YEARS GO?!?!? :D
Being the budding film maker that he is, his REAL present is an old Super 8 movie camera.....
But of course we had fun getting him some other cool thingies too..... and some cheesecake :)
Yeah, I guess 21 might be okay.....
:D

24

It's impossible for me to fathom, but 24 years ago today I gave birth to our first son Daniel. I was 24 myself, and John was 28. We didn't have a clue what we were getting into. The nurse had to show me how to diaper a baby before we brought him home because I didn't even know how to do that :/ Poor little innocent Daniel, fresh from heaven... mixed up with two new parents who are going, "how do we get it to stop crying?". Lord have mercy.

But that sweet baby was the most beautiful baby on earth, and changed our lives forever. We are better people because of his birth, and continue to be better people because of the person he has become. I remember when he was younger and would lament about "the good old days" before his 2 younger brothers were born and ruined his life. How he felt so much pressure being the oldest and having to set an example. I would always tell him, "Daniel, you have to trust God. He knew exactly what he was doing when he sent you to us first. He knew what kind of older brother you would be. He knew what kind of example you would be. He knew what kind of person you would be. And you have never let him down." And it's true. Daniel is a great older brother, a wonderful son, and a fantastic person. It would be nice to see him a little more often when he's not working hard at BYU, in a 3rd world country, or keeping In-N-Out in business. But we treasure our time with him, and are so proud of him and how he's making the world a better place.

HAPPY 24th BIRTHDAY DANIEL ~ WE LOVE YOU!!!!!

Davy turns 19

Oh Davy... my little Davy... my happy, funny, care-free little guy...

You are one unique soul, heheheheheh. But of course, that's what we all love about you :)
It's been an honor to watch you grow, and especially to see you develop your talents
Davy...... you have such a gift..... you have so much inside you..... you will do great things

Yesterday was your 19th birthday - how on earth did this happen?!?! Here you are with Val - such a cute photo. You picked out the most awesome mandolin for your birthday. Along with your songs and your band..... it's going to take you places. You have been blessed with so much in your life - great potential, great intelligence, great friends, great wit, and a great heart. I know you will take these things and do well with them, whatever your road may be. And whatever way your road may go - and all the twists and turns different paths may take you - I want you to know that I will always love you down every single one :)

And now, without further ado, just for you, ONE more time, your all-time favorite video - the Freaky 70's Russian Guy:

Yippeeeeee!

Okay, so here I am with my adorable boys, celebrating my birthday. I'm wearing my new tie dye tee shirt, but of course you can hardly see it because my husband and boys got me 3 bottles of diet Coke and 5 bags of Ruffles for my birthday! LOL! Too funny :) We had a great day - a really busy day! But with a TON of birthday love sent from near and far. THANK YOU EVERYONE! I'm going to take a few days to catch up on the gazillion errands and chores I need to do - and hopefully finish that INFERNAL BED of mine once and for all! WHAT bed you say? Oh you'll see. Youuuuuuuu'll see :)
