First there was Mr. Bill

Then came VooDoo Doll Gnome

And then..... after many years of yearning..... and with just a few minutes' notice..... 

straight off a plane from Oregon..... came..... wait for it..... drum roll please.....

Are you freaking KIDDING ME?!?! I could scarcely believe my eyes!!!

At the door was my AWESOME friend Heather, holding a REAL Voodoo doughnut for ME!

You DO know about VOODOO DOUGHNUTS, right? RIGHT?!?!

As a connoisseur of all things donut, I have known about VOODOO for years! YEARS!

It's an Oregon landmark for goodness' sake! A literal donut mecca, if you will!

But I had never been there, NOR had I ever sampled their famous doughnuts.

TILL NOW MUA-HA-HAAA!

Get this: Heather carried an entire box of doughnuts on multiple planes through multiple airports to bring them back to California! And bless her sweet heart, she knows how much I love donuts and brought me one! I thought I was gonna BUST! Thank you Heather! Thank you so much for being so thoughtful! :)

The doughnuts at VOODOO are simply INSANE (btw, you can NOT call them 'donuts' there!)

 Don't think for a split second we didn't visit our fave donut places over the summer either! HEH!

 Randy's Donuts - with it's massive iconic donut - is pretty much a Los Angeles landmark. Even those of you who don't live here have probably seen it in movies and TV shows. I even have vivid memories of it from when I was really little! Located in Inglewood, Randy's is celebrating their 60th anniversary this year! How cray-cray is that!

 And you can see why they're still in business all these years later, hehe :) BEST DONUTS EVER

 And let's not forget the Donut Man in Glendora! Donuts on steroids is the best way to describe them! And look: they're celebrating their 40th anniversary! This must be the year for milestones!

My most favorite thing of the entire day? Liam's pants :)

day trip!

~ Nate and I rocking the Batmobile ~

 Last Saturday the Fam and I went on a little day trip all around southern California.

We started by driving to Santa Monica while the boys had fun at True Tone Music.

Then we went east to visit my high school friend Nate Truman -

builder of the infamous Batmobile and other Star Cars, and all around terrific guy.

We saw a special about donuts on the Food Channel, and the rest is history!

 the Mouse loved the HUGE chocolate covered strawberries

 Every donut looked like it had been on steroids - GINORMOUS!

These buttermilk bars were about 8 inches long

Ah, the life of a crueller... some of them were even filled!

 YEAHHH!

 YEOWWW!

Raspberry cheesecake donuts... yes, really!

And did I mention how INCREDIBLE all the donuts were?!

 Even Luna was a happy girl :)
