summa summa summa

So here are some random things regarding summertime at our house! Happy Father's day to John.....
(yes, he got more than root beer - he got a new door mat that says "GO AWAY".....)
Sunflowers - one of my all time favorites, and the HAPPIEST flower on earth!
My totally amazing summertime puzzle! I did a few others last summer that I loved, and I could hardly wait to do this one! I completed all 4 sides and then *FAIL* Apparently it was in the way of everyone's laptops, game controllers, take-out food, books, dvd's, and feet. The big coffee table I was doing it on wasn't big enough for my puzzle and everyone else's shenanigans. So with great sadness I called uncle :/ That is my pencil puzzle saga. Maybe I'll try again over the holidays.....
Tori's birthday cake! I made her one of my chocolate malt ball birthday cakes :) Happy birthday Tori! Love you girl!
The Los Angeles LDS temple in Santa Monica. I took this view from the back side - so pretty :)
And finally we have my little Angel after her bath :) Matthew and I clipped her and bathed her and she went from dingy gray to snow white again! SO CUTE! But it was just too much for her, bless her heart. She was plum tuckered out so she climbed into her bed and went to sleep :)

malt ball cake

My dear friend Jamie had a birthday last month. Yay!
Over the years we have made each other quite a few birthday cakes,
since we both love birthday cakes and rarely get them on our birthdays.
Jamie has an unbridled love of malt balls, so this year I decided to do something fun.
AND YES IT INCLUDED CANNED FROSTING
so just get over it.
I collect bundt pans and wanted you to see this flower bundt form...
though it's not a traditional bundt with a hole in the middle, it works out great -
especially for filling/lemon curd/frosting/fruit/etc. in the center depression.
 Ta-Daaaaa!
I heated the frosting so it was a pourable consistency,
and the rest is history.
Consistency. History. Hehehe :)
The amazing plate with all the malt-ball-sized holes in it was a lucky find!
 YUM
You're welcome :)

God Bless America! Let them eat cake!

Happy 4th of July everyone! I'm so very grateful for my country, and feel blessed every day, to live here in this choice land :)

Sooo..... I'll probably never be a food stylist (phooey!) but here is the bundt cake the kids and I made for Independence Day! I found the idea on *Pinterest* (OF COURSE!) and thought it looked fun. It was very easy, and it turned out GREAT!
It's super cool because not only is the outside red, white and blue, but when you cut the cake, the INSIDE is red, white, and blue too! Ah, the magic of creativity and food coloring, hehe :)
YUM!!!

Wishing all of you a safe, happy, patriotic 4th of July! xoxo
