Luna the Lionhearted

(this post is especially for Gaylen)

Matthew apparently didn't have enough to do during finals week, being that he's a genius and all. 

He obviously didn't need to study or do anything productive, so he decided to give Luna a lion-cut.

After he asked permission, of course. AND I SAID NO.

(poor little Angel..... she can't grow any fur except a little fuzz here and there :'( sniff.....)

Though Matthew had made a valiant attempt, I needed to fix her up just a bit.....

which of course I didn't mind doing, because I have nothing but loads of extra time on my hands.

Wow, it's too bad Luna really can't tolerate attention of any kind :/

Awww..... here she is all fixed up with her puffy new lioness mane!

I must admit, Luna seems to really enjoy her new haircut -

she is taking the job of being queen of the jungle very seriously.

Look how regal she looks in the bright morning sun!

Luna Bunny

Now that Easter has passed, I've taken my bunny off of my wild child banner.

But I wanted to mention that this isn't just ANY Easter bunny.

It's a Luna Bunny :)

I've looked for years to find a bunny that resembles the silly little thing my Luna does...

she will beg for attention by doing what we call the Easter Bunny.

She does it so often, at times I'll look in the back seat of the car, and there she is in her E.B. position.

It just CRACKS. ME. UP. 

So to celebrate spring, my cousin Shell sent me the best Luna Bunny ever!

Thank you dear Shell! I love my Luna Bunny!

She HATES having her picture taken in the first place...

but one of the rare snaps of her rocking the E.B. happens to be with Shell - YAY!

 I looked up from my kitchen counter the other day, to see all these adorable smiles, and notes,

and postcards from dear friends..... all on the side of my fridge..... and it just made me so happy :)

I don't think I've ever posted this pic before, but if you've been in my kitchen, you'll recognize it! 

 I got a late Valentine's Day gift too..... John sent me some *way* cool headphones - PINK!

 They're called Urban Ears - they come in all kinds - and they're just too cool for school!

Thank you John - that was such a welcome and thoughtful surprise! :)

 I can't help it..... I take pics of my beautiful Luna whenever possible :)

 She's so photogenic, it's just amazing to me! But the irony is, she HATES being photographed!

I have to sneak nearly every single photo I take of her or she will immediately run away!

She's got the cutest profile :)

Some of you asked me after my previous post, if Matt's hair was blonde now.....

Does this answer your question?! This was literally the 3rd time we bleached it

and I was pretty much ready for his hair to start melting :/ 

I made him have this pic taken because he looked like he had a Dutch hat on, hehe :)

 And NO - he did NOT ask my permission the first time he bleached it!!!

But doggone him - it looks pretty good and that kid gets away with everything!

(hoping some sense will fill his brain the longer he stays upside down.....)

Jenn will graduate in Film from Pepperdine in April - exciting!

She's such a darling girl - smart, funny, talented, unique, pretty - and we love her :)

Davy and Jenn have sooooo much in common, and they enjoy being together a LOT!

 My dog Luna is just the funniest thing. She makes me laugh every day.

Several days ago she was barking and bouncing around this tree as though she was on a pogo stick.

 I started wondering if the possum she was after a few days prior was back for more.

(that was an event in and of itself and I only wish I had photos of it)

 GIT DOWN HERE - I GONNA BOP YOU ON DA HED!

 Well it went on for about half an hour, her whining and boinging...

Finally I decided to see what in tarnation was going on anyway...

(and her new puppy Lucy too!) She said she would send a few to my girlies...

and would you look at the ADORABLE package that arrived! My goodness!

the dingo ate your baby

Surely you remember the recent past, when poor Angel was miserable with her amount of genetically mutated fur. When the shedding began, I felt bad for Angel and also for myself when her floating fur stuck to my lip gloss.  

Just look at the poor thing. Waddling like an armadillo. How can she hoist that gargantuan amount of fur around?

Obviously she did not get far. Angel went places by going in little spurts here and there, and napping in between.

Meanwhile, Luna lived in her perky fantasy world as Queen. I didn't tell her it looked like she had baggy pants.

Speaking of lions, look at the mane on Luna herself!

I can't help it... I love Luna's tiny little chicken legs :)

But I digress! Remember how the above photo was the result of just a few times from brushing Angel's BUTT??? Well, I called in the big guns. Meaning I called in our groomer Jennifer who comes to our house. It's always fun to see the look on Angel & Luna's faces when they see Jennifer at the door! HAH! Angel only tried to nip me once, and I only had to drag Luna out of my closet like a wet noodle one time. Which is so ironic, because they always feel SOOO much better afterwards, and they run around and play like puppies because they are so happy! And this time was no different - thank you Jennifer! You can see their transformation below. Such a transformation!  

Awwwwww, look how cute and smiley they are now!
