weekend update

I hope everyone had a nice weekend! I laid low the entire time. AND. STILL. AM.
I watched Season 1 of Bones (verdict still not out - I'm on the fence),
started Season 2 of Gilmore Girls (thanks Teresa!) which of course I lurve,
did a lot of quiet type photography stuff on and off per laying low status,
brushed Angel and Luna and fed them treats,
got to had to skip church due to coughing up a lung,
and pretty much survived on Dayquil and diet Coke the entire weekend.
I am not complaining. It was awesome.
Okay, these two sunset shots from my back yard? Are from the SAME sunset!
How wild is that! I love how you can see the rope hanging from our tree :)
~
Below are a few examples of pics I took to add to my portfolio at Zagg.com
Not sure when they'll appear on the site though - keep checking!

I think this one needs to be my next cell phone skin :D
~
Happy Monday everyone, and let's have a great week!

I'm delighted, and grateful to all my readers who have been awesome!
In fact, more than awesome - you make my day every day :)

I'd love to give 5x7 photographs away to some of my readers!
And it can be your choice of what you'd like to have - you choose, I deliver!
I posted a variety of my photos here today to give you all kinds of examples.
But the best place to go to see them ALL, is to go to my Zagg portfolio!!!
There you will find 5 pages of my photographs to look at and choose from,
and I just sent them more, so more pics should be turning up this week!
Reminder: they are sideways in my portfolio to envision them on a cell phone!
You'll need to *click* on a photo you like to see it larger and as it really is!

Starting today - Wed the 20th -
Make a comment *in this post* about why you ❤ LURVE ❤ my blog!
Why do you come here? What keeps you coming back? What's your fave thing?
You can even tell me what bugs you about my blog and post ideas for change!
And I'd like to hear one more thing: something about YOU - anything!
And you loyal silent lurkers out there... this is the perfect time to say hello!
You will need to sign up with Google/Blogger to be able to comment on my blog,
So if you haven't yet signed up, come on out of your shell! Just do it - it's easy!

Ending Sunday the 24th at midnight -
I will then collect the names of all those who have commented *on this post*
and randomly choose FIVE LUCKY WINNERS to receive one of my 5x7 photos!
I will announce the five winners on my Monday blog post :)
Am I the bomb or what!? No, YOU are, because you are my PEEPS!!!

SKINS are not just appetizers

I finally - FINALLY! - feel like I can shout the news regarding this project I've been working on for a month or so!
Which is a really good thing because it's practically done me in to keep it to myself!
I have contracted with a company called Zagg, so they can use my original photographs for their 'skins' :D
HOW TOTALLY COOL IS THAT!!!
A 'skin' is a strong, thin, protective layer that attaches to either a hand held device (ie cell phone) or a laptop.
It's basic purpose is to protect your expensive device, while at the same time, you hardly know it's there.
Zagg is the home of the original Invisible Shield - many of you may already use this product -
and if not, I urge you to check it out and familiarize yourself with it because it's amazing.
But now you can decorate your 'skins' and make your devices more your own, as well as protect them.
That's where my original photos come swooping in with all their color and fun!
Zagg offers their own artwork to choose from, as well as the artwork of several other graphic artists.
Another creative option for creating a Zagg 'skin' is that you can upload an original photo of your own.
I am Zagg's only artist who uses actual photographs instead of graphic design, and I am very proud of that!
So far I offer 50 photographs to choose from on the Zagg website, and I am adding more photos frequently.
IS THAT GROOVY OR WHAT!!!
Below are some examples of my own work that I pulled right from their site:

And so my friends, I am very excited :) If you'd like to see all that Zagg has to offer - which is a LOT - here is the Zagg Website. If you'd like to see ALL the 'skins' available, click on the light gray box that says ZAGGskins. If you'd like to get to my photographs quickly, do this:
1) click on the ZAGGskins box
2) either under Most Popular or New Designs, click See All
3) to the right of where it says Browse ZAGGskins Designs, click on artists written in small writing
4) I am the 3rd artist down that page. Click where the blue writing says More from artist Megan Walker - and then you will finally get to see all my photos! Sheesh! LOL!

Now as is usually the case, I didn't get this cool little gig on my own. I need to thank Shelly Hesch for being my biggest cheerleader, and John Hesch of Zagg for liking my photographs so much and introducing them to artistic director Louie Fernandez. And for Louie's patience with me! And especially to my long time friend Brad Smith who had the patience and encouragement of a saint while teaching me the things I needed to know about Photoshop. If it weren't for him this wouldn't have happened! And I'm the first one to admit I have a long, looooong way to go in the learning department. OY VEY.

So thanks for reading, and now I do believe it's time to partake of some diet Coke and Ruffles :D

have a hippy day

Just bringing you a little tie dye love to help you WAKE UP! the week of daylight savings... now that we've sprung ahead and lost an hour. By all the comments on Facebook it seems like everyone is having a rough time of it! Except you lucky people in Arizona who don't acknowledge it. Way to go Arizona! I'm not having a hard time this time around, but overall, I am NOT a fan of daylight savings. WHY can't we just let it go, for heaven's sake!?!?

This week is my photo/Photoshop week. Supposedly. I am working on a lot of projects regarding all my photographs, including trying to get them all organized in one place (yeah. I wasted my entire day yesterday doing it all wrong) to eventually make it easier to locate them. Then of course I need to enhance the ones I'm using for so-called professional purposes. And then comes my new Photoshop skills which my friend Brad taught me (read saved my skin) in order to do a special project I've been hired to do and I will announce soon. Fun :) Stress :/

And yes, these pics are from my own tie dye shirts. Those of you who know me well will recognize them immediately :) I probably have about 6 or 45 that I rotate frequently. I don't dye them myself - these ones are complicated and require actual skill. I get the vast majority of them from HERE. They are expensive but by far the best quality. Very cool designs too. Well my peeps, I hope all of you have an extremely GROOVY day today!
