Some Art of His Own

I love... therefore I paint. Davy told me some time ago that he would really like his very own painting - something I created just for him. I thought that was a great idea, especially with graduation coming up. He has always really liked my artwork and I have appreciated that so much - probably more than he realizes. He once mentioned that my art defined our home, and I never forgot that. Not only did it surprise me when he said it, it touched me to the core.
Davy has gone through several color phases over the years. Like many teenagers, black defined much of his, shall we say, "darker" years. Black is great. To a point. If you don't have 2 white dogs. He then moved into a deep red phase, which lasted several years. Now, I'm a lover of all things red so I felt this was a step upward. Red is warm and comforting and can be very cheerful. Especially when not referred to as "blood" red.....
Just lately, I've seen the biggest change in Davy with regards to color. He loves yellow. Loves it. It's almost like the thick, heavy curtains that were shutting out the light have been thrown open and for the first time sunshine has come pouring in. Bathing him with beams of warmth and happiness. Yellow is light. Yellow is life. Awesome choice Davy!
BE OF GOOD CHEER! Sun, sun, sun, here it comes :)
I love you so much Davy! I'm delighted you love your painting :)
