Alice inspired... headboards?

Well knock me down the rabbit hole and force Johnny Depp the Mad Hatter upon me... I do declare, these oversized headboards are the most glorious things I've seen in some time! I admit that even on my beloved Apt. Therapy, where I found these images a few weeks ago, I get weary of seeing what seems to be the same mid-century modern pieces of furniture in the same mid-century modern influenced homes time and time again. These caught my eye because they were so outrageous! Would I have something like this on my own bed? Are you kidding? In the drop of a Mad Hatter's hat I would! Of course my headboard fabric would be a solid color, knowing my penchant for patterned quilts on the bed. Oooh, a lovely saturated color like turquoise - and tufted with wild buttons - maybe even a collection of all different buttons! Mad indeed! Oh, how extraordinary! FABULOUS!

*Before I get too carried away, I'd better make sure I get my article and photo credits on here :) The original Apt. Therapy article I got these images from, entitled Giant Headboards, was from San Fransisco contributer Susie Nadler. The images are from Coco + Kelly, and A Lovely Thing, respectively.

The older kids all went to the midnight showing of Alice, since it opened TODAY! Oh, you should have seen them! Their eyes were all done up in sparkly make up and they looked mighty ready for a visit to Wonderland. I am dying - DYING - to see how their evening went and what they thought of the movie! But I digress... I have one more MAD headboard to show you, and it's my personal tribute to the opening of Alice. I drew it myself which is an oxymoron because I typically don't draw. But I do like how it turned out. It's Mad Hatter inspired. And so my friends, I give you the Mad Hatter Tufted Headboard - - -

wait for it..........

oooooooooooh! ahhhhhhhhhhh!

Have an awesome weekend everyone!!! :D

  1. I love the turquoise and the idea of different buttons is perfect! The stack of books looks like home (just a little neater than here!)

  2. 1) Love the headboards!!! I would also take any one of those, and yours look amazing as well! It would be amazing to see it realized.

    2) Where's the photo proof of our eye makeup wonder? You have my permission to put up the photos, you just have to convince Davy. ;)

    3) The movie was great!! Davy will probably tell you more later and I will also but yeah it was a lot of fun. Everyone in it was fantastic and it was visually stunning.
